Today, we were extra creative in the kitchen and came up with this delicious – tastes deep fried but isn’t – crispy and golden treat!
Trust me, they are a new favourite in this household.
To make these delicious meatballs –
Combine 1 lbs ground pork (or ground turkey) with
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, finely minced
- 1/2 tsp each
- onion powder
- dried oregano
- a few dashes of black pepper
Roll the ground meat mixture into 2 & 1/2 inch meatballs.
Cut up 1×1 inch cubes of old cheddar cheese.
Stuff 1 cube into each meatball by pressing it into the side of a rolled up meatball. Use a bit more meatball mix to close the open end.
Lay the meatballs on a plate. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
In a bowl, whisk together
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 2 TBSP all-purpose flour
Pour some Panko crumbs into another bowl.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Roll each meatball into the egg mixture first, then coat with Panko crumbs (roll the meatball in the crumbs) and lay on the tray.
Use any good oil spray and coat the meatballs with a light spritz.
Preheat oven to 375°, then bake for 40 minutes.
